Xbox LIVE (XBL) is Microsoft's online service, used in conjunction with the Xbox 360. The service allows users to connect with friends, play multiplayer games together and send messages back and forth. Users are identified by Xbox LIVE usernames, better known as gamertags (GT). Changing or modifying your gamertag is fairly simple and can be done via your Xbox LIVE settings directly on the console. Before making the change, note the listed price of the change. If you've changed your gamertag once before, Microsoft may charge you for subsequent modifications.

Power on the Xbox 360 and sign in to your Xbox LIVE account.

Select "My Xbox," then "Change Gamertag."

Select "Enter New Gamertag" and enter the new gamertag. If you are unsure of what to change the gamertag to, select "Get Suggestions."

Click "Yes, Use This Gamertag" when satisfied to save the changes.
